As we find ourselves adapting to a more virtual and online reality, we find alternative ways to socialize, do our work, and stay in contact with loved ones near and far. Over the last years online work has become a central part of how many of us work and still we often forget what it takes to care for our virtual spaces and each other when working online.

How we meet and host each other online is more important now than ever, whether the groups we are hosting are large or small. It can be a deeply meaningful experience or it can be very frustrating.

This course is designed to minimize the frustration and maximize the value of our online engagements.

WHAT IS A BEEHIVE FLEX COURSE?

We are offering a more flexible way for you to engage with our courses. We have taken the treasure chest of recordings form our realtime course on this topic and curated the teachings, exercises and support material into a valuable learning experience that you can engage with on your own time. One that is FLEXIBLE and self-paced, and at the same time connected to others on the same journey. The main elements are:

  • Self paced learning: Through carefully curated, bite-sized video and audio recordings presenting the core ideas. This allows you to access the teachings when it is convenient for you.
  • A community of peer learners and peer feedback. This allows us to get to know peers from all over the world and reflect on our own practice in the light of what others are doing.
  • Simple exercises to help you integrate your learning in your own context.
  • A practice guide for reference and inspiration, that you can print out and take with you.

Our Invitation

We invite you to join us for an important reminder that the solutions are not only in the technologies we chose, but in us as hosts. It's we who discern what is most needed and helpful, and from that place, design engagements that use the gifts of technology without being distracted or led by the overwhelming need to move  ever more conversations online.

We invite you to learn with us and a global community of peers, as we strengthen our shared knowledge and build the capacity to make our online engagements truly meaningful.

COURSE STRUCTURE

This course is based on the "real-time" online course we offered in 2020 as a response to the dramatic increase in online work. It gave us a chance to harvest what we have learned through our many years of experience working online. We chose to organize these practices and these resources in 3 themes:

  1. Hosting engaging online spaces
  2. Creating the conditions for meaningful engagement
  3. Making Sense in the digital realm

Having played a key role in developing the field of online engagement, Beehive Productions utilizes first-hand experience & a rigorous practice of preparing, inviting, hosting both process and technology, and creating intimacy, beauty, and collective meaning online.
